On 4/12/08, we scattered my dad’s ashes out into the ocean off of the Historic Seven Mile Bridge in Marathon, Florida, where he lived and worked. They lingered there for several minutes, enough time for me to compose myself and get my camera.

This is my dog, Luxie, at home in Miami. She’s a Black Lab/Australian Shepherd mix.
